Interim figures for Kuwait's budget published by the Ministry of Finance for the first eight months of fiscal year 2005/06 (FY05/06) indicate robust and accelerating growth in revenues accompanied by slower growth in expenditures.
According to Kuna, the total revenues went up by 53 percent compared to the same period last year to hit KD 9.19 billion (US$ 31.246 billion), while expenditures went up by 2.4 percent to KD 2.95 billion. As a result, the budget showed a widening preliminary surplus of KD 5.3 billion, the report added.
