Non-oil exports have amounted to Dh 2.3 billion (some US$630 million) for the emirate of Abu Dhabi through the first half of this year, a rise of 50 per cent for the same period of 2005, according to the statistics of the Abu Dhabi Customs Department.
The emirate's imports during the same period reached over Dh 21 billion (US$5.7), a 35 per cent increase compared to last year.
Russia has topped the list of countries importing non- oil products from Abu Dhabi at a value of Dh 426 million followed by India with imports totaling Dh 308 million and China with Dh 274 million.
According to the Department's statistics, Qatar emerged as major importer of goods re-exported from Abu Dhabi during the first half of 2006 with a total value of over Dh 316 million. Yemen ranked second with Dh 171.7 million and Oman third with Dh 157.8 million.
