The state-owned Qatar Petroleum (QP) has recently awarded a 17-month contract for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a wellhead jacket and associated pipelines at the Bul Hanaine offshore field, to the National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), a unit of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company. One of six offshore oilfields operated by QP, Bul Hanaine holds recoverable reserves of 690 million barrels and produces 80,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd).
Established in 1974, QP is a national corporation responsible for all oil and gas industry processes in Qatar and abroad, including exploration and drilling for oil, natural gas and other hydrocarbon substances, production, refining, transport and storage of these natural resources and any of their derivatives and by-products, as well as in, distribution, sale and export of these substances.
NPCC is a public joint stock established in April 1973. The company’s Mussafah facilities can produce up to 67,000 tons of fabricated steel structures per year. NPCC’s facilities include pipe-coating plants for coal, concrete, fusion bonded epoxy and polypropylene coatings. NPCC also owns and operates a marine fleet for offshore oil and gas development projects.
NPCC’s services include steel structures fabrication, topside, jackets, corrosion coating of pipes, pressure vessels, storage tanks and spheres, and marine fleet for offshore transpiration and installation of structures and laying submarine pipelines. — (menareport.com)
