Tunisia has hosted about 6 million tourists during 2004 in comparison with less than 5 million tourists in 2003 and about 5.4 million tourists in 2001. During these three years, the tourism sector in the country has been able to generate about TD2.2 billion in 2004, TD1.9 billion in 2003 and TD2.3 billion in 2001.
Le Temps reports that the expectation is that these figures will even increase further during this year due to the general rise in the number of tourists in the world and the gradual improvement in the international airlines activity.
