A $987-million deficit orojected in Omani 2002 budget

The Omani Minister of National Economy, Ahmed Makkei, stated that the 2002 general budget contains an OR 380 million ($987 million) projected deficit, equivalent to 15 percent of the government’s revenues and five percent of the local GDP reported Al-Hayat .
