Addressing the second Gulf Food Company Summit in Sharjah, the Director General of the Research, Training and Information Department of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Abdullah Shadady, stated that the number of the operating dairy product manufacturing factories in Saudi Arabia totaled 67 by the end of 2000, reported Al-Bayan. This number constitutes 16.2 percent of the overall existing food manufacturing factories in the Kingdom. In addition to meeting domestic consumption, Saudi dairy product manufacturing plants exported 126,000 tons of dairy products to Arabian and African markets in 2000. — (menareport.com)
