ALBAWABA – Recent studies indicate that UAE tourism is expected to contribute with nearly $64.2 billion (AED 236 billion) to the economy in 2024. This follows a contribution of 11.7% to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2023.

According to the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), a forum for the travel and tourism industry, UAE tourism is expected to contribute nearly 12% to the UAE’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2024 and to enhance its role as a significant driver of the national economy.

It is worth noting that UAE tourism accounted for 11.7% (AED 220 billion) of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2023, according to the Emirates News Agency.

UAE’s tourism sector is recording extensive growth as it's attributed to UAE’s Tourism Strategy 2031. This great success is supported by great infrastructure, massive tourism offerings, and ongoing efforts to attract international visitors.

In terms of numbers, Dubai welcomed nearly 10.62 million visitors in the first seven months of 2024, recording an 8 percent increase in yearly growth. Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi welcomed around 2.87 million guests in the first half of 2024, recording 19.5 percent growth.

UAE Tourism Strategy 2031

The country aims to attract a total of $27.2 billion (AED 100 billion) in tourism investments. According to the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), the UAE’s tourism sector is expected to contribute nearly $74.5 billion (AED 275.2 billion) to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 2034.

Constant growth in UAE tourism is driven by advanced facilities, including modern airports, luxury accommodations, and world-famous tourist attractions.
