6.2 percent more cars on Kuwait's roads

The number of cars on the roads in Kuwait is 801,555, up 6.2 percent compared with the 754,500 vehicles plying the roads of Kuwait in 1999, according to interior ministry figures published Sunday, December 16. In 1998, Kuwaitis owned 708,881 automobiles, as compares to 654,667 in 1997. 

 

The population of the Gulf emirate stood at 2.217 million in 2000, however, only 40 percent are of that total are Kuwaiti citizens, while foreign laborers account for rest of the population. — (menareport.com)
