Recently published statistics by the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting reported that the number of jointly owned factories operating in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and funded by foreign capital, totaled 874 at the end of 2000. These factories constitute 41.5 percent of the total number of manufacturing plants in the UAE, reported Al-Bayan.
The number of jointly owned factories in whole of the Arabian Gulf states equals 18.7 percent of the total manufacturing plants in the region, reaching 7,487 factories at the end of 2000, reported Al-Bayan . — (menareport.com)
