$28 billion traded on the Emirates Stock Exchange in 2001

The Emirates Financial Market Authority reported that the value of stocks traded on the local securities market increased to 103 billion Emirati dirhams ($28 billion) in 2001, up from Dh85 billion ($23.14 billion) in 2000, reported Al-Hayat. These figures translate into a Dh18 billion increase. 

 

The share price index of the Abu Dhabi National Bank, which measures the performance of 38 listed companies, grew by 23.5 percent in 2001. The same index decreased by 18.3 percent in 2000 and by 17.8 percent in 1999. — (menareport.com)
