Addressing the third Graduates Employment Symposium, the Egyptian minister of labor and immigration, Ahmed Amawy, revealed that 1.5 million Egyptians are presently unemployed.
According to Al-Ahram newspaper, Amawy estimated the current local labor force at 18.7 million. This figure consists of 5.4 million employees in the public sector, 3.5 million employees in regulated private businesses and 10 million workers in the non-regulated private sector. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
