Iraqi telecommunications minister Mohammad Ali Elhakeem announced that in the near future his country would begin to implement a project of installing and operating wireless phone networks.
The minister expects that the local telecom sector will witness an increase of another 1.5 million lines in the fixed line network, according to <i>Albayan</i> newspaper dated February 9, 2005. The minister expected an annual average increase of 1 million lines, so this number can reach till the year 2015 to 10 million line .
