The Jordanian Ministry of Water and Irrigation recently began to evaluate bids offered by local and foreign companies to execute a drinking water project in the Al-Disi area in southern Jordan, reported AL-Hayat. The ministry, which received 14 proposals, announced that it will declare the winner’s names within two months. The project consists of carrying drinking water from the Disi area to the city of Amman. Jordan is one of the world’s 10 countries with the highest water shortage, reported Al-Hayat, estimated at 250 million cubic meters per annum and is expected to rise up to 408 million cubic meters in 2020. — (menareport.com)
