10% decrease in cannabis cultivating lands in Morocco

The Moroccan Agency for the Promotion of economic and Social Development of the Kingdom's Northern Regions and Provinces - APDN (l'Agence pour la promotion et le Developpement Economique et social des prefectures et provinces du Nord du Royaume) announced that the lands used for cannabis cultivation in Morocco has decreased from 134,000 ha in 2003 to approximately 120,500 ha in 2004, which marks a 10% decrease.

 

Bladi.Net reports that in a press conference that was held on Wednesday in Rabat by the General manager of APDN, Driss Benhima, the Agency indicated that the  greatest reductions took place in the province of Al Hoceima (-54%), followed by the province of Teounate (-43%).
