Dubai has been selected by Sun Microsystems and its regional channel development provider (CDP), Tech Access, to host the first CDP-run Authorised iForce [SM] Ready Center in Middle East and Africa. The one million dollar ‘proof of concept’ facility will open in Dubai Internet City (DIC) in July.

"Until now, there has always been an element of risk in information technology (IT) infrastructure investment. The iForce Initiative changes this. Customers will have access to a fully operational end-to-end solution model, built to their specifications, before they invest a single dollar. For the first time regional businesses will be able to ‘test before they invest’," said Denis Heraud, Regional Manager, Sun Microsystems, Middle East and Africa region.

The new Tech Access Solutions Center joins a growing global network of Authorized iForce [SM] Ready Centers, all adhering to the ‘test before you invest’ philosophy. "Authorized iForce [SM] Ready Centers are designed to provide a pre-purchase testing ground for tailor-made solutions. They allow Sun and its iForce partners to validate solutions to customers and end users," said Heraud.

"The iForce initiative enables us to deliver a ‘proof of concept’ to customers before they commit. This means they can interact with a working prototype software and hardware solution, built from the ground up to address the unique challenges of their business – whether they be large corporations or small to medium enterprise accounts.

Authorized iForce Ready Centers are part of the foundation of Sun Microsystems' iForce initiative, a far-reaching community that brings together under one umbrella Sun's systems, software, services and best-in-class partner solutions to create and deliver customer-driven solutions that enable enterprises to leverage the network to improve business processes.

Tech Access is the Sun Microsystems Channel Development Provider (CDP) for the Levant, GCC, Egypt and Pakistan. Tech Access provides Sun’s distribution and logistic network across the region as well as incorporating ‘value added’ functions such as administration, sales and post sales support and first-line technical help desk support to all accredited Sun Resellers and Partners.

Tech Access has s strategic alliance partnership with Argus Systems Group, is a certified iPlanet Enterprise reseller and is the only Sun Cobalt Country Reseller for the Middle East and Pakistan region. Tech Access serves Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain Qatar, Yemen, Oman and Pakistan. — (menareport.com)
