Bahraini enterprises enabled to display Hi-Tech capabilities in Bahrain IT Expo 2011

Through Tamkeen’s Growth Assistance Programme, 15 Bahraini enterprises will exhibit their hi-tech capabilities at Bahrain IT Expo 2011 which is being held on the 17th and 18th of May under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohamed Bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, the Deputy Prime Minister. The Growth Assistance Programme is one of the programmes of Tamkeen's flagship Enterprise Development Support initiative, which seeks to boost the productivity and competitiveness of the Bahraini enterprises.
Tamkeen allocated more than BD 16,000 to cover up to 80% of the cost of participation in this key event - held in conjunction with the e-Government Forum 2011 - to give Bahraini entrepreneurs the chance to learn about the latest market developments, build relations with major companies and clients, and discover new marketing and investment opportunities in the ICT sector. In turn, this will ultimately bolster the national economy and support the goals of Economic Vision 2030.
"The ICT sector is considered one of the fastest growing sectors in the world," noted Private Sector Support Senior Manager Mohammed Bucheery. "Over the past few years, the Bahrain IT Expo has become a mainstay on the regional and international fair circuit. As such, it provides an ideal platform for national companies to showcase their products and services, exchange expertise, and build business relations in the region and beyond."
He called on all national companies to contact the Enterprise Development Support Agency to learn about the various opportunities that Tamkeen offers through this programme.
During the second phase of the Enterprise Development Support programme, Tamkeen has spent more than BD 1.6 million in financial support to assist more than 400 enterprises to participate in a number of local and international exhibitions through the Growth Assistance Programme.
The Growth Assistance Programme is designed to help national companies achieve sustainability by expanding the outreach of their products and services through participation in key local and regional exhibitions, and is one of five main programmes under the Enterprise Development Support initiative offered via Tamkeen's Private Sector Support offers. The programmes offer companies a comprehensive package of high-level professional tools through a co-financing structure aimed at improving the companies’ performance and putting them on the right track toward prosperity.
The other four programmes under the Enterprise Development Support programme are: The Business Development Programme, the Technical Assistance Programme, the Quality Management Programme, and the Marketing Support Programme.
