AUC launches "Egypt in Transition: Understanding Your Rights" seminar series

AUC's Gerhart Center for Philanthropy & Civic Engagement in partnership with El Sawy Culture Wheel is launching a political education seminar series entitled "Egypt in Transition: Understanding Your Rights".

The first seminar will be held on Saturday March 5th at El Sawy's Kalima Hall from 6-8pm. The topic of discussion will be "Defining Citizenship and the Importance of Activism in the Rebuilding Process". The speakers are Engi El Haddad, political activist, Founding Member of Shayfenkom a movement for monitoring elections and also a Founding Member of the Afro-Egyptian Human Rights Organization as well as Dr. Rabab El Mahdi, Assistant Professor of Political Science at AUC, revolutionist and strong proponent of change for years.

Sessions will be held every Wednesday and Saturday throughout March in Kalema Hall at Sawy. Topics lined up include Revolution and the Anti-Revolution, Constitutional Amendments, Ideologies, Political Parties and the Role of Labour Movements in the transitional period.
