A Cyprus oil tanker, transporting 29,400 tons of gas stopped in distress off Morocco’s Mediterranean shores near the northeastern town of Nador, Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP) reported Wednesday.
The Moroccan Royal Navy was quoted by the agency as saying that navy units were dispatched to assist the tanker and keep it away from Moroccan waters.
The Moroccan environment department said all measures were taken to avoid any leakage likely to harm the environment in the area, said MAP -- Albawaba.com
