Officials from the Giothon, Giordano’s community walkathon, have presented a cheque for AED 30,000 to the Rashid Paediatric Therapy Centre, for use in supporting the Centre’s activities.
The Centre, which is a non-profit organisation, will use the funds to implement new programmes and cover the cost of tuition fees for some students. Ishwar Chugani, Executive Director for Giordano Middle East, said: “Giothon grows year on year, and 2005 was no exception. We are now looking forward to the 2006 event, and making it bigger and better.”
Giothon 2005 was hosted at <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />DubaiMunicipality’s SafaPark, in Jumeirah, with organisers hosting a post-event party at the park’s amphitheatre, where participants were treated to refreshments and entertainment. Lebanese superstar, Ala’a Zalzali took time from his schedule to perform with the kids from the Rashid Centre, while UAE National darling, Fatimah, sang from her latest album, Zamani.
