Al Futtaim Group starts its 3rd Retail Sales Traineeship Programme

Twenty-seven trainees have embarked upon Al-Futtaim Group’s 3^rd Retail Sales Traineeship Programme which began in February. The Emirati trainees will be interning in IKEA, Marks & Spencer, Toys “R” Us, Al-Futtaim Watches, ACE and Intersport.  This 6-month programme will conclude on 30 July 2011.

The Traineeship Programme is supported by Tanmia, the National Human Resource Development & Employment Authority. Tanmia now has a total of 55 candidates registered in such traineeship programmes conducted by Al-Futtaim Group’s Emiratisation Department.

Ahead of the trainees beginning their internship, they went through an intensive English speaking course, alongside being part of the Al-Futtaim Group induction programmes where they learnt about the businesses they will be part of, and discuss their roles with the programme’s mentors.

Tanmia’s representatives MsWedad, Ms Fatima, Ms Moza and Mr Ahmed attended the event and with Mr Zuhair Al Haj, Head of HR, Administration & Localisation in GCC addressed the traineesand congratulated them on their successful entry into the Al-Futtaim Group and the Retail Divisions. 

Al-Futtaim is widely recognised as an employer of choice, thanks to the Group’s Emiratisation initiative Mehmal Al Marifa its successful training programmes and recruitment initiatives which are now acknowledged as industry benchmarks.

Mr. Zuhair said:“We aim to conduct three to four similar programmes and request all local Emirati job seekers to join Mehmal Al Marifa. This programme ensures young UAE graduates get equal opportunities to hone their skills in one of Middle East’s largest group that is home to the world’s finest brands”.

“Al-Futtaim provides these cadres with the right incentives to join its ranks in line with federal government objectives. This will mainly be achieved through proper education, skills enhancement and their ability to match the new trends and developments within the local society," Zuhair said.
