The Abu Dhabi National Islamic Finance (ADNIF), the Islamic finance and banking arm of the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), has donated to the Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP) to support its campaign for needy cancer patients.

The campaign aims to raise fund from Zakat donations and provide health care assistance to cancer patients in the UAE.

Ms. Ameera Bin Karam, President of Board of Trustees and founding member of FOCP, received the donation from Ahmed Al Riyami, the Head of Retail Business Development of ADNIF, at the Bank’s head office, One NBAD Tower.

Ms. Ameera Bin Karam praised ADNIF’s role in supporting charitable and humanitarian organisations and contributing in providing health care for patients

“The UAE demonstrates through its leadership, people and institutions that solidarity is the foundation of the society," said Ms. Bin Karam. "A Community with the spirit of solidarity is able to find a prominent place among communities' organisms, play an influential role, earn respect and set global example of a solid society,” she explained.

The Friends of Cancer Patients has recently launched a campaign to raise fund from Zakat donations to support needy cancer patients and provide them the financial aids for treatment.

“ADNIF is keen to support humanitarian and charitable institutions in fulfilling its duties towards humanity and help cancer patients who are facing financial difficulty that constrained them from continuing treatment,” said Mr. Al Reyami.

“Our support for the campaign is inline with ADNIF’s commitment towards the communities in which we do business,” added Al Reyami.

ADNIF is engaged in many vital activities that support the community and society such as donations and sponsorships as well support projects concerning health, education and environment.

FOCP was established in 1999 as a charitable and volunteer-based foundation operating under the umbrella of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah. It aims to minimize the impact of cancer by providing medical assistance and support services to cancer patients and their families. In addition, it aims to increase community awareness across the UAE to the causes of cancer, methods of prevention and screening, types of treatments and support services available and engage the community sprit in all levels.
