Mercedes are in contact with Sebastian Vettel as they search for Lewis Hamilton’s replacement.

The Brit opted to leave the German team after 11 years to join Ferrari in 2025.

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has been in contact with the 36-year-old, but he played down Vettel coming out of retirement to drive for the team.

Other names being linked with replacing Hamilton include Mick Schumacher and Andrea Kimi Antonelli.

Vettel retired in 2022 after a 15-year career, with four consecutive F1 titles and 53 wins.

The 2024 Formula One season kicks off in March with the Bahrain Grand Prix.
