Barcelona star Ilkay Gundogan is on his way back to Manchester City after agreeing to a one-year deal, as per The Athletic.
The former Germany international is set to wear the City jersey just one year after his departure.
The 33-year-old will sign for the Premier League champions, with the option to extend for an additional year.
He will even sacrifice the remaining two years of wages that he would have earned at Barca in order to facilitate the transfer.
The midfielder made 51 appearances in all competitions for the Catalan giants last term.
However, he was told that he wasn't part of plans for the new season following the arrival of Hansi Flick as head coach.
Therefore, Gundogan reportedly spoke to City boss Pep Guardiola over a possible return, and the Spaniard gave the go ahead for the move to happen.
