Liverpool chief executive Ian Ayre has revealed that the day Italian striker Mario Balotelli signed from AC Milan, the club sold 50,000 pounds worth of his shirts.
The Italian international joined Liverpool for 16 million pounds back in August, much to the delight of Liverpool supporters. And Ayre revealed how Liverpool fans swiftly went out and purchased shirts with Balotelli's name and number on the back.
Ayre said that Liverpool had success and opportunities to develop in the past and didn't take them, adding that that won't happen again, The Mirror reported.
Ayre also said that having the right people and trust allows the club to maximise signings like Balotelli, leading to 50,000 pounds in shirt sales.
Additionally, Ayre discussed how Liverpool were growing as a global business, saying that one can only measure success by the number of people the club engages and satisfies. (ANI)
