Bayer 04 Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro has addressed rumors linking Florian Wirtz with a possible move to local rivals Bayern Munich.

The 21-year-old is tipped to become one of the best players in the world.

Wirtz has attracted interest from all over Europe in recent months, with the likes of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Manchester City and Liverpool all pushing to sign him.

However, it has been claimed that the attacking midfielder prefers to stay in Germany, giving Bayern a clear advantage over other interested sides.

Leverkusen CEO Carro responded to rumors surrounding the young star, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano: “I can’t promise anything, you never know in football”.

“But we don’t want to sell our best players to direct competitors, of course… it’s what we also told Jonathan Tah last summer”.
