Chelsea announced that they have signed Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid in a £45.5 million deal.

The Portugal international returns to London for a second spell after a previous loan spell with the Blues during the 2022-23 season.

The 24-year-old put pen to paper on a six-year deal, with the option to extend for another season.

Felix was loaned out to Chelsea and Barcelona after falling out with Atletico boss Diego Simeone.

The striker never managed to truly prove himself with the Madrid giants, despite the hefty sum of €127m that was paid to bring him from Benfica in 2019.
