Bahrain's Winfred Yavi wins 3000m steeplechase with an Olympic record

Bahrain’s Winfred Yavi captured the women’s 3000 metres steeplechase gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old won the race and timed an Olympic record ahead of defending champion Peruth Chemutai, who had to settle for silver.

Faith Cherotich of Kenya claimed the bronze medal.

This is Bahrain's first medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
