Arsenal and Chelsea are set to battle for Athletic Club winger Nico Williams, with a Barcelona transfer "unlikely" for the 22-year-old, according to The Athletic.

Arsenal have placed the Euro 2024 hero on top of their shopping list this summer.

However, the London-based club realize that the player's hefty release clause of €58 million must be paid in full upfront.

Therefore, Arsenal will have to offload some of their current players to provide the funds needed for the transfer.

On their part, Chelsea feel optimistic about their chances, but remain aware of Barcelona's interest and Williams' possible preference to stay in Spain.
