Reunion in Jail: Mubarak’s Mega Mafia Meet Their Maker

Published April 17th, 2011 - 02:39 GMT

So the Mubarak Gang are to be reunited again, but this time not in their regular state offices but in jail. They have been arrested pending questioning for at least 15 days as of 13th April. Mubarak hench-men kept the state secrets and family from harm, but in prison they won’t keep him secure. There are prison officers for that.

Head of the embezzling entourage, the fallen dictator seems to have dug his own grave. Quite literally, as shown above.

Egypt’s Military council might have let him alone or let Saudi and UAE have him spared, but for his breaking his deal to leave politics alone with rumor of a counter-revolution afoot.

He and his criminally charged cohort are being detained in Torah prison for profiteering, wasting public funds and illegally accumulating their wealth for the next 2 weeks. Charges of corruption are accompanied by the more hefty allegation of killing protestors. This charge risks death penalty.

Many a detainee’s assets have been frozen, apart the Mubarak Millions, which remain undeclared.

Some of the names of ex-cabinet position holders and other Mubarak Mega tycoons who profiteered from their friend in power…

Coward and thief, name-calls by the crowds. Held in hospital for questioning, before joining his prison gang. Private fortune 40 billion: in 30 years he siphoned off public funds, the equiv of stealing 187,000 Egyptian pounds from each of his people.

Urged husband to have son succeed him. Demanding that she join hubbie in Kanater (women’s jail), people resented her uninvited role into political life. Even her ‘goodworks’ as advocacy for women, children human rights did not impress.

He built his family tomb for 10 million Egyptian pounds. Fancying himself Pharaoh, this vault rises 1500m high, and cost him no extra in (slave) labor fees; at a time when 1.5 million Egyptians live in cemeteries for lack of decent housing.

Facebook commentary on the thieving couple: they thought they were the Sun and the Moon, fixed permanent features for Egypt. They think they are Pharaoh and Cleopatra.

Ala’a Mubarak (R), clad in white suit, not the zebra striped outfits we expect, nor the orange jumpsuits of other notorious jails. Brothers now housed in Tora jail. Mock-called Tora-Bora in ref to the Afghani caves.

Gamal Mubarak- Arrested wearing white, while claiming innocence, and showing shock and disbelief. Probably disbelief cause they didn’t think it would come to this. Unshaven, Jamal was more disheveled than elder brother Alaa.

Zakaria Azmi, Mubarak’s long time chief-of-staff. Very implicated in the Mubarak mess. Chants calling him thief, bayed for his blood and detention.

Zuhair Garranah (R)- the former minister of tourism: has angered citizens of the Sharm el Shaikh region whose livelihood has been adversely affected by these collective scandals and the internment of the former President in a local hospital. Ahmed Moughraby(L)- Former Housing minister.

Fathi Sorour- Former Speaker of People’s Assembly, charged with nepotism.

Mortada Mansour, upon arrest this infamous lawyer and head of Zamalek football club, was heard passionately protesting his innocence. Accused of killing during the Battle of the Camel, Mansour has joined ex colleagues in Tora Prison.

Ahmed Nazif - former PM, also faces charges for killing protesters. In a marked state of deterioration: caught muttering that he was forced to execute the president's orders and that he should not have been taken to jail.

Ahmad Ezz - Once influential business tycoon and leading figure of the NDP, now behind bars, a leading jailbird. Dubbed Iron Man, not so steely now!

Aisha Abed el Hadi- Minister of Employment: Known as the ‘ hand-kisser’ for publicly kissing Suzan’s hand. She could keep Suzan company in the prison Kanater. And bestow kisses to her cell-mate.

The great Alexandria Library revamped this century into a futuristic look. The library committee has asked Suzan to give back $145 million pledged. If taken to account for her gold-digging, she would be the ‘first’ First Lady to be locked away.

Safwat El-Sherif, the former Secretary-General, who first proposed the idea of the succession of Gamal to power. The strongest ‘stalwart’ of the regime, now captured with jacket over his head, already banned from travelling, his assets frozen.

Father-in-Law to Alaa, also detained on corruption and the shady seizure of state Lands. He took a chunk of vacant land at a price less than worth, wasting 600 million pounds of public money, and saving 13 million development fees.

Dr.Hatem al Jabally - ex Minister of Health: under investigation regarding spending state money on his own medical treatment to the tune of 12 billion pounds.

If you’re looking for Husni, you can find him in his hospital bed or prison cell (Al Bawaba will report the cell or block). For now, he is in the Sharm el Shaikh International Hospital, with rumors of being transferred to military hospital in Cairo.
