World Bank to grant Egypt $1.5 billion for sanitation, housing projects

Madbouly stated that Egypt will obtain a concessional loan with the value of $500m for the social housing programme, over several years, with around $100-120m annual instalments.

At the same time the government is looking to ease restrictions on mortgages, it is also stepping up its efforts to supply more low-cost housing.
