ALBAWABA - Jordanians woke up to the horrible news that a young lawyer called Zeina Majali was stabbed to death at the hands of her brother.

Al Mamlaka news agency reported, citing a security source, that a man stabbed his sister with a sharp object in the north of the capital, Amman, causing her serious injuries. She was taken to the hospital, but died from her injuries.

The source further mentioned that the perpetrator, who is the brother of Zeina Majali, handed himself over to the police immediately after the incident, while the investigation teams initiated all the necessary procedures to uncover the circumstances of the incident and determine its motives.

"I am now a body without a soul," Her sister Batoul Majali mourned her with heartbreaking words.

Feminist Movement in Jordan reported that Zeina Majali, 30, a Jordanian lawyer from the Al Rashid suburb, was killed at the hands of her brother, Waseem, 35, who said he is a drug addict.

According to the movement, Waseem used to beat, blackmail, and rely on his family members as a constant source of funding for his drug use and violence instead of working or taking responsibility for his life.

Zeina, herself, had earlier filed a domestic violence complaint against him with the Family Protection Unit, as she had been subjected to direct violence by him.

What happened with Zeina Majali?

Some local news outlets reported that Zeina Majali was killed while trying to stop her brother from attacking his father that night.

However, the Feminist Movement account allegedly said that Zeina was in her room when her brother Waseem ambushed her from behind, stabbing her in the neck with a knife, then he continued with five stab wounds to the neck, chest, and abdomen.

Zeina was bleeding and walked out of her room to her family, her body covered in blood. But instead of first aid, they began cleaning up the crime scene. "After the cleanup was finished, the Civil Defense was called. It was too late. Zeina had passed away," the post read.
