Accused of contacting the American-led intervention in the Syrian Civil War, Syrian journalist and activist Nour al-Shalo faces execution after two months of being arrested by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, a Sunni Islamist militant group involved in the Syrian Civil War deemed as a terrorist organization by the United States.

The Syrian journalist was arrested by Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham also known as Tahrir al-Sham more than two months ago and has reportedly been tried for alleged connections to the US-led coalition that took part in her country's civil war occasionally.
Local reports revealed that al-Shalo, a native of Idlib city controlled by opposition groups, has been sentenced to death, however, none of the sources available have been able to identify her location or whether or not the sentence has been carried out yet.

Worried about her fate, many social media users launched an online campaign under the hashtag (#الحرية_لنور_الشلو: Freedom for Nour al-Shalo) calling on the international community to exert every effort to rescue her and ensure her safety.
Nour is just like many of us. Her story represents those of countless women fighting against tyranny, terrorism and patriarchy on a daily basis.

Using the hashtag, Twitter users posted many photos and videos of Nour, remembering her stances on different issues, including the war during which she opposed the Syrian regime headed by Bashar al-Asad, in addition to her interest in the plight of women in her country.
