A video flooding social media captured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's reaction to Trump's words. Zelesnkyy raised his eyebrows and smirked in disbelief at Trump's words due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.
The US President said, "Russia wants to see Ukraine succeed. It sounds a little strange, but President Putin was very generous in his feelings toward Ukraine succeeding, including supplying energy, electricity, and other things at very low prices."

Zelenskyy attended the Mar-a-Lago press conference on December 28 in hopes of advancing Ukraine-Russia peace talks.
Recently, the White House took to X (formerly Twitter) and quoted the US President, saying, "Our meeting was excellent... we have made a lot of progress on ending that war – by far closer than ever before."
Zelenskyy also took to X and wrote, "I thank @POTUS Donald Trump for a great meeting. We had a substantive discussion on all issues, and we much appreciate the progress achieved by American and Ukrainian teams in recent weeks."
He added, "We discussed all the aspects of the peace framework and achieved significant results." that Ukraine is "ready for peace."
