ALBAWABA - The replica of the Statue of Liberty in Guaíba city, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, fell and crashed on the ground due to a powerful storm that hit southern Brazil on December 15.
The country's civil defence authority had earlier issued warnings for people over the strong winds, which had reached the speed of 90 km/h.
A clip was caught online showing the nearly 40-metre-tall replica of the Statue of Liberty, located in front of a McDonald's branch within the parking lot of a Havan in the Brazilian city of Guaíba, collapsing.
On the other hand, Guaíba Mayor Marcelo Maranata posted online and praised the Havan workers for dealing with the situation quickly.
