ALBAWABA - A vigil was held outside the Israeli embassy in Washington, DC in memory of US Air Force member Aaron Bushnell who burnt himself against the war in Gaza.
During the vigil for Aaron Bushnell, which was hosted by veterans, many took uniforms and burnt them in a way to show solidarity with Palestinians in the face of the Israeli aggressive war which started on Oct. 7.
A video was shared online showing fire and veterans placing their uniforms inside while a banner was seen in the background with the sentence: "Veterans say: FREE PALESTINE! Remember Aaron Bushnell."
Aaron Bushnell, 25, took a video of himself while setting himself on fire. In the footage, which went viral, he was seen outside the Israeli embassy in Washington when he started to introduce himself, then he said he would no longer be complicit in "genocide".
His last words when he was on fire were "Free Palestine" in protest of the Israeli war in Gaza during which over 30,000 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, and more than 70,043 injured in Israeli aggressive attacks. Hours after the incident, the US announced the death of Aaron Bushnell.
New York Post reported Tuesday citing a friend of the US airman who said that Aaron Bushnell claimed to have very secret information about the American forces that are fighting in Hamas tunnels under Gaza just hours before setting himself on fire in an “extreme act of protest” against Israel.
