ALBAWABA - US President Donald Trump recently sparked backlash after posting an AI-generated video on Truth Social that mocked Democratic leaders, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

The video featured Schumer speaking in a fake voice while Jeffries stood in the back wearing a sombrero and a mustache, as mariachi music played in the background. Many criticized the video, describing it as  "racist" and "unprofessional."

Additionally, the clip in question had Schumer's fake voice slamming liberal leaders as "woke" while taking the Republican Party's side.

In response to the controversial video, Jeffries wrote to Trump, "Bigotry will get you nowhere. Cancel the Cuts. Lower the Cost. Save Healthcare. We are NOT backing down."

Schumer later followed with, "If you think your shutdown is a joke, it just proves what we all know: You can’t negotiate. You can only throw tantrums."

According to CNN, the video was shared due to recent reports indicating that the US government might shut down by October 1 amid tensions between the Republican and Democratic parties. This would force non-essential government operations to shutdown.

Donald Trump called for a meeting on Monday between Republican and Democratic congressional leaders. However, a deal was not reached, and after the meeting ended, Vice President JD Vance said, "I think we’re headed to a shutdown."
