ALBAWABA - A church in Switzerland has landed in boiling water after using Artificial intelligence technology (AI) to bring Jesus Christ back to life.
The church is called Peter’s Chapel and is located in Lucerne city. The Church has caused wide controversy and sparked mixed reactions after installing Jesus using new technology.
According to The Guardian, Peter’s Chapel's AI-powered Jesus can speak up to 100 different languages.
The installation was named Deus in Machina and it was launched last August. On the official website of the Swiss church, the first thing you read is the question: "When was the last time you were in the confessional? Did you have any stressful experiences? Now you can experience it anew and share thoughts and questions with a heavenly hologram."
The following answer can be read directly: "An artificial intelligence, aesthetically appearing as Jesus, will respond verbally and perhaps create a holy moment."
The AI-powered Jesus draws mixed reactions among Christians who some call a "disrespect" for the religion. Another labelled the installation as "blasphemy".
Another person on X wondered: "Is that just business or is it holy?" Meanwhile, a netizen said: "Rofl. Don't fall for him and reveal everything. Your data may be shared".
