ALBAWABA - A video widely circulated online of an interview with ex-Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, which many reportedly said to be done in 2024.
Many users online posted the alleged interview and claimed that the former president who was hanged to death on Dec. 30, 2006, is still alive and that he was hiding from public appearances.
However, several other people said that the video is apparently fake as the former Iraqi President Saddam died over 20 years ago.
In the alleged interview, Saddam Hussein's voice was different from his real voice, and in a different tone as well.
The clip was shared with the comment: "Here is proof that Saddam Hussein is alive in 2024... He will make a big surprise."

Following research the reshared video of Saddam Hussein turned out to be old as the original interview was made in 2003, however, the sound of the Iraqi former president was manipulated and changed using new technologies, AlArabiya reported.
The interview was excerpted from an old interview of Saddam Hussein, which was made on Febr. 4, 2003, and was broadcast on the British Channel 4.
Nonetheless, this is not the first time rumors have emerged online that the late former Iraq president could be still alive and in good health but always claimed that he was away from the public for various reasons.
