ALBAWABA - Videoes emerged online showing Syrian refugees in Lebanon being violently beaten and attacked amid anger over the kidnapping and the killing of Lebanese official Pascal Sleiman.
According to social media users, Lebanese people in Beirut and Jubail have attacked Syrian refugees who are living there following the killing of Pascal Sleiman, whose body was moved to Syria by kidnappers.
Nonetheless, many have also smashed the cars which have Syrian licenced 'in revenge' for the killing of Pascal Sleiman.
Many decried the attacks on Syrian refugees and called it "inappropriate behavior" adding that not all Syrians in Lebanon should be punished over the killing of the Lebanese official at the hands of Syrian people.
The Lebanese Army announced on Monday that Lebanese official Pascal Sleiman was killed at the hands of his kidnappers.
The army also revealed in a statement posted on X account, that the body of Pascal Sleiman was taken to Syria.
It said: "Following up on the case of the kidnapped Pascal Suleiman, the Army Intelligence Directorate was able to arrest most of the Syrian gang members involved in the kidnapping."
Moreover, the Lebanese army said: "During the investigation, it became clear that the kidnapped person was killed by them while they were trying to steal his car in the Jbeil area, and that they transported his body to Syria."
Furthermore, the Lebanese authorities are now coordinating with the Syrian government to hand over his body, and investigations are completed under the supervision of the Cassation Public Prosecution.
