Kuwaiti Broadcaster Converts to Crtistianity in Viral, Controversial Video

Kuwaiti broadcaster Muhammad Al-Mo’men has ignited huge debate on social media after sharing a video of himself announcing leaving Islam and converting into Christianity.

In the video, he came out wearing a Cross and said “Because we are Christians” then he drew the “In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit” sign.

Muhammad’s video got alot of engagements and mixed reactions as thousands of people shared it with varied points of views. Some called on his country to arrest him and even threatened to kill him; some showed no interest in his decision while others called human rights groups to save him.

Translation: “And whosoever of you turns back from his religion and dies as a disbeliever, then his deeds will be lost in this life and in the Hereafter, and they will be the dwellers of the Fire. They will abide therein forever.”

Translation: “Hey guys, I think his situation is abnormal he might be under pressure or Mentally ill; there’s no reason for him to convert as he is famous and rich; there’s something with the boy.”

Translation: “He’s not adding anything to Christianity nor reducing anything from Islam, everyperson has his own relation with God, the most important thing is how you treat and deal with people.”

‘We are the sons of Issa and Mary, finally I know God and I understood life,’ said the broadcaster, who is the grandson of the famous Kuwaiti Broadcaster , writer and calligrapher Hamad Al-Mu'min.

Some Twitter users accused Mohammad Al-Mu'min of attempting to secure an asylum saying that converting to Christianity might be the easiest way to get one.

A hashtag which was released ‘#محمد_المومن’ has gone viral and topped the list after local media broadcast Mohammad’s video causing stir and igniting typical debate across the country and the Muslim region.
