ALBAWABA - JD Vance, Vice President of the United States, has been trending on social media along with Pope Francis after people said he was the last one to see the religious leader.
Donald Trump's Vice President paid a visit to the Vatican over the weekend and met with the pope hours before he passed away.
The Vatican announced that Pope Francis died on Easter Monday, April 21, aged 88, inside his residence in the Vatican's Casa Santa Marta due to a stroke.
Cardinal Kevin Farrell announced the sad news on Telegram: "This morning at 7:35 am (0535 GMT) the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the home of the Father. His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and of his Church."
He added: "He taught us to live the values of the Gospel with faithfulness, courage, and universal love, especially for the poorest and most marginalized. With immense gratitude for his example as a true disciple of the Lord Jesus, we commend the soul of Pope Francis to the infinite, merciful love of God, One and Tribune."
JD Vance is Pope Francis' Angel of Death?
The meeting was on the first day of Easter as JD Vance, a Catholic convert, shook hands with the pope and said: "Hello, so good to see you.”
Associated Press revealed that the Christian religious leader received JD Vance while in a wheelchair, and his voice was very low. "I know you’ve not been feeling great, but it’s good see you in better health," Vance's last words to the Pope.
The Vatican announced the pope's death hours after his meeting with Trump's VP, and the announcement was met with a wave of mockery on JD Vance, who was rapidly nicknamed "Angel of Death".
A person said: "Omg stop 😂😂😂😭 is JD Vance considered the Angel of Death now?!". Another commented: "JD "The Death Bringer" Vance bragged about visiting The Vatican shortly before the passing of The Pope."
Meanwhile, an X user also mocked the American politician by saying: "Does this mean that JD Vance is the Angel of Death? If so I have a long curated list for him."
