ALBAWABA - The Feminist Movement in Jordan posted on its X account revealing the details of a horrific crime in Amman's Marj Al Hammam area.
According to the page, which focuses on women's rights cases, a father in Jordan killed his daughter, 37, in Amman with 5 bullets on Wednesday night.
In detail, a Jordanian man shot his daughter to death using 2 bullets in her head and three in her belly, then he walked away in a cold-blooded murder that shocked the Jordanian community.
Father of Wesal, 37, was chased and detained by the police and placed under custody along with the gun he used in the crime. The reason behind the heinous crime has not been revealed yet.
It was confirmed by relatives and the building guard that Wesal, who is the daughter of divorced parents, didn't go along with her father who was treating her in a bad way.
The building guard also revealed that Wesal told him that she wished for death many times due to her unhappy life and her controlling father who prevented her from simplest rights such as marriage.
According to SIGI Jordan, the first half of 2024 reported a slight decrease in number of crimes. However, the crimes in the first half of 2024 are "more heinous than those" in the first half last year.
It confirmed, 10 crimes, the majority of victims being women, totalling 12 victims (9 females and 3 males) took place in the first 6 months of 2024.
