ALBAWABA - Egypt's Interior Ministry recently arrested an individual accused of organizing a 'suspicious' event called "A Day on Epstein's Island," a reference to the late sex offender's notorious island, as reported by CNN in Arabic.

The party first sparked concern after an advertisement for it flooded social media, with several reports stating that a woman was harmed by it. Before it was foiled by authorities, the Epstein-themed party was scheduled to be held at a popular nightclub in the Qasr El Nil district in Cairo.

According to a statement made by the ministry, the party was going to be held on February 10, specifying that girls attending would be granted free entry.

The ministry stated further, "Upon inspection, it was found that the event was advertised without obtaining the necessary permits from the relevant authorities."

It added, "The organizer, a Cairo-based event planner, was apprehended, and coordination with the competent authorities was undertaken to prevent the event from taking place. Legal measures have been taken."
