ALBAWABA - Rumors have circulated about the disappearance of China's foreign minister Qin Gang after he wasn't seen in public for a long time.
According to media outlets, the Chinese foreign minister was seen for the last time in public three weeks ago triggering questions of "Where he Qin Gang?" and "Is China's Foreign Minister alive?"
His disappearance comes amid a tense period between China and the United States and the multiple visits by high-key American officials to Beijing. Days ago, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited China where he discussed various bilateral, regional, and global issues with Chinese officials.
Back to the Chinese FM, who was appointed last December, he was last seen in public on June 25, after he met with officials from Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Russia in Beijing, CNN reported.
The last meeting he held was with the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko as the two discussed the Wagner Group rebellion against Russia.
An old interview between the Chinese Foreign Minister and a Hong Kong Phoenix TV host has also gone viral among his missing as people claimed that the interview was held in Washington D.C.
