ALBAWABA - French President Emmanuel Macron announced filing a defamation lawsuit against American writer Candace Owens over her repetitive comments against France's First Lady, Brigitte Macron.
Candace Owens claimed earlier that Brigitte Macron was born a man and allegedly said she has a prove that she will be sharing with people via her YouTube program, called "Becoming Brigitte".
The American figure said on her podcast on Wednesday regarding the lawsuit by Macron, "The life of Candace Owens, it works like this."
She added, "I wake up, I stretch, I have a cup of coffee, and then I am served with a lawsuit."
Owens further mentioned that a defamation lawsuit was issued against her by the "first lady man" of France, for repeating her contentious claim that Brigitte Macron, the wife of Emmanuel Macron, was born male, Time reported.
Since early 2024, the right-wing commentator said she would "stake [her] entire professional reputation on the fact that Brigitte Macron is in fact a man". In July 2025, Macron and his wife confirmed they filed a lawsuit against Owens for defamation.
During her "Becoming Brigitte" show, Owens appeared in one of the episodes along with French journalist Xavier Poussard, who allegedly showed in an interview with Candace Owens a new photo claiming it proves that Brigitte Macron was born a male and underwent transgender surgery.
