Video of an Iranian cleric shoplifting from a supermarket has gained a lot of attention on social media. The clergy in Iran have been an issue of controversy to the Iranian public lately. They are being deemed as corrupt and untrustworthy by many Iranians.
Mullahs are thieves. Most of Shiite clerics love to steal from #Iran & Iranians. Some of them like Ayatollahs are stealing #Iran's Neutral resources such as Oil & some like this petty thief steal goods from a supermarket. Supermarket owners are scared to stop them during robbery. pic.twitter.com/dZpE6S3D0i

This incident has raised many questions about the integrity of religious authorities in Iran, and whether or not they will ever face repercussions for their corruption.
The mullahs have reached the point where they see themselves above the law, nobody can condemn them within Iran without suffering consequences; a land where the robber barons rule!

On the other hand, one twitter user pointed out that the corruption of religious authorities is not the biggest issue Iran faces right now, as there are more fatal conflicts threatening the country such as the illegal US sanctions.
Yes that's clearly Iran's biggest problem: not US illegal sanctions, not being at war with Saudi-Israeli proxies or UK seizing its tankers. But shoplifting. Right...
