The latest news of Egyptian pop star Tamer Hosny's joining the production company 'Rotana' has given rise to controversy in the entertainment world, merely because Egyptian superstar Amr Diab is part of the company and has been considered one of their most important singers. That may all be about to change with a new sheriff - err- superstar in town.
Amr made it quite clear he'snot too happy about Tamer's joining the company when he didn't show to the big Rotana ceremony in Dubai held in Tamer's honor, even though the company had previously announced that Amr would be in attendance at the signing ceremony. Amr had refused to attend when he discovered that Tamer will be signing the contract.
According to Sayidaty.net, news reports have it that Amr may not renew his contract with the company after it ends, since he was the favored singer without any competition until Tamer joined to defy him in his own territory.
Poor little, Amr.
It is not known how 'Rotana' will treat the cold war that erupted between the two singers, or if it is willing to jeopardize one singer for the sake of the other.
