The Second Zayed International Marathon is due to kick off on Thursday in Abu Dhabi.
The Emirates News Agency reports that under the patronage of Lt. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, the UAE Athletics Federation is organizing the marathon.
A number of local and expatriate athletes across the UAE are scheduled to take part in the event, which will start at the Abu Dhabi Sheraton onto its finishing point at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club at the Breakwaters.
A total amount of Dhs. 400,000 in cash prizes will be given away. (Albawaba.com)
