A Yemeni security officer has been killed by multiple shots at a restaurant in the southeast of the country, officials say.
Unidentified gunmen chased Sergeant Rashad Al Kaldi into a restaurant in the coastal city of Mukalla and shot him repeatedly, officials said on Wednesday.
The gunman and his accomplice immediately fled the scene on a motorbike after the "cowardly terrorist act," an official added.
Yemeni security forces frequently come under attack by gunmen especially in the southern and eastern parts of the country.
Late on Saturday, unknown militants opened fire on a Yemeni intelligence officer, Ahmed Hashim, in the city of Ataq in the province of Shabwah.
