Xerox Emirates, the market leader in Document Management, Technology and Consulting Services had a successful participation at this year’s GESS 2010 (Gulf Educational Supplies and Solutions). The company showcased its tailor made color products and solutions for schools during the event including: Xerox Color Qube 9203, DocuColor 252 Digital Production Printer, 7142 Wide Format Color Printer, Docushare virtual learning content management, SafeQ print management, Print Shop Mail variable data printing software and Xerox Desktop Photo kiosk.

One of the key highlights of Xerox’s presence at GESS was to emphasize on the company’s Color for Learning solutions. Research has shown that color improves a student’s ability to learn, remember and recall study material by 82 percent. The Jumeirah English Speaking School (JESS) has maximized the use of color by deploying Xerox technology and in return witnessed a major difference in student learning behavioural patterns. According to JESS, children are able to recognize and remember characters and figures mainly because of color.

“We had a very successful participation at this year’s event and received an overwhelming response for our solutions especially the recently launched environmentally friendly ColorQube 9203. Our participation at GESS, underscores our commitment to supporting education in the Middle East through Document and Content Management Solutions, said Andrew Hurt, General Manager for Xerox Emirates. “Through Xerox’s range of smart services, schools of all levels and sizes can improve their business processes, enhance the quality of their print infrastructure – meeting their students’ educational needs”.

One of our key case studies showcased at the GESS event was our long and prosperous relationship with the Academia Management Solutions International (AMSI), which is a collaboration of academics and educators who bring together a wealth of experience and international expertise. Xerox has helped AMSI setup a comprehensive document center that comprises of several Xerox high volume black & white and color machines including the Nuvera 120 and the Docucolor 8000. By doing so, AMSI was able to pool all printing resources and provide printing services to their schools efficiently and cost effectively.

A recent industry study by IDC indicates organisations in the educational sector in the UAE spend approximately USD 167 million on IT related products and services. The managed services and tailor made solutions showcased at this year’s GESS can help reduce this cost and optimize workflow in schools across the region.

Andrew added, “Our technologies, expertise and services enable educational institutions to operate more efficiently and effectively, whatever the situation. With Xerox at the heart of education, we’re ready to take the world of Real Business to the next generation”. With the education sector in the UAE representing such an important market for document management technology, GESS is a priority event for both the education and technology sectors in the Middle East.”
